A thought for the new year – LIVE

As a new year begins, my prayer is that I can live to the full in each moment. I want to embrace the variety and beauty of life. I want to be present in each moment, a living testament to God’s grace. The colors of this collage are lively to reflect the life I want to live. Blessings on this new year. Shalom.

Peace at Christmas

2012 has been about freeing my creative spirit, partly by going back to basics. I collaged fabric scraps from a vibrant palette along with free motion quilting to create this tree art, embracing the process simply because I enjoy it.
Decided to go free-form this year. Every Christmas card is different!
Taylor’s choir ended the AASO Holiday Pops concert with the song “Let there be peace on earth.” This is my prayer for the new year, and that it can begin within me.

hopes for this year

Taylor is a senior. A SENIOR. Wow! My prayer for this year is to create habits that keep me grounded, and find the courage to create a space where I can enjoy this time with her, with all the adventures and craziness that comes. I want to embrace it.

Healing

My prayer for this week of Thanksgiving is that healing is made real in the lives of the people close to me who need it, and we can find a well-spring of joy and thankfulness.

Father, we are so hesitant
in asking for healing,
real physical healing.
So hesitant in asking
your Spirit to touch our lives.
It is almost as if we are afraid
that in hoping for a trickle,
we unleash a torrent.
Forgive our timidity, Father,
our lack of faith
in the Creator of this universe.
Forgive our unbelief,
as we take your Word,
apply it to our hearts,
open the floodgates,
and anticipate a deluge.

Let today be …

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
