More green

I went a little crazy even … thankfully I finished 6 cards, but I have the beginnings of 13 more! One way to restock my card box I guess, since it was getting rather low. I’m thinking it is time to create more fun graffiti fabric to use in cards as well.

Green

I love to make projects from recycled bits of fiber I use in other projects. It was too windy out yesterday to do much gardening without constant sneezing, so I enjoyed some down time making these cards.

Basics closeup

Amazing how you see the flaws close-up but the overall picture can still be great. A reminder to work on the details but never lose sight of the big picture.

Basic stitching

Warmed up my color muscles, then on to the stitching muscles in the hands, feet, and mind. Some day these will warm up Christmas cards. (Hopefully in 2012)

More water

The original theme was water, but it needed a focal point I thought.  Decided to do a rock (which looks more like an open tomb) as had just finished our Wisdom installation at church, and had images of doorways to wisdom anchored in rocks in my head. How can wisdom be solid and yet grow? I started with oil pastels – next time I will use watercolor pastels on top of water color! Still unfinished.

Water unfinished

I’ve been puzzling about connectedness of things, the thin veil between our world and God’s world. This is an unfinished piece waiting for a bit more inspiration.

Welcome wisdom

How do I welcome wisdom into my life? Where do I need to create the space? have the the courage? take the leap of faith? grow? What will it take?

Living with eternity 2

I’m puzzling over the idea of eternity on earth and the kingdom of God. How do I live into God’s kingdom today? This is the muse from last night.
My prayer for today: may I be open to and aware of how I can be a blessing today.

Living with eternity

Thinking about wisdom and how I am called to live here on earth. I want to live into God’s story which means living in the present in my here and now, my story. (I’m not sure this journal page is done yet – my here and now includes a certain amount of perfectionism)

Unfinished

The sunrises have been beautiful this week. Yesterday, looking down the Huron river towards the dam the sun washed the clouds with peach highlights, the mist drifted through the trees, and the river echoed back the soft watercolor hues.

My journal entry isn’t quite there yet. A good reminder that life is a process. Good to know where you are going. Better yet to be present and enjoy each and every moment of the journey.

God, may I be present in the moments of this week. May I drink in the beauty and life around me. May I breath out this life to those around me.
